SACRAMENTS
Preparing for the Sacraments are significant spiritual milestones that students experience alongside their classmates. Parents are included in preparing their children for reception of the Sacraments through adult education evenings.
St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic School students in 2nd grade prepare for and receive the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist during the school year.
Students in 7th- 8th grade prepare for and receive the Sacrament of Confirmation during a Confirmation school year. Confirmation is a two year program and St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic School students receive the sacrament every other year.
Practicing Catholic students who have received their First Communion may receive Eucharist during school Masses. Catholics and non-Catholics who are not prepared to receive communion are encouraged to come forward for a blessing.
Opportunities for the Sacrament of Reconciliation are offered to students at least once a month. All students are encouraged to participate; non-Catholics will receive a blessing.
All students who receive Sacraments must be baptized Catholic and be members of the Catholic faith.
