Learning about our Faith

The Catholic faith and traditions are at the core of a St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic School’s education. These values are integrated throughout the curriculum. Students learn to imitate Christ by incorporating the Gospel values of faith, hope and charity in their everyday lives in the classroom, on the playground and at home. Students discover God’s presence in their lives and develop a deep sense of their Catholic faith.

 

Daily religion classes teach students about their Catholic faith and tradition. Children in all grades learn about the Catechism of the Catholic Church: The Creed, the Sacraments, the life of Christ and prayer. Religious lessons are integrated throughout all subjects.

 

Prayer is part of every school day, beginning with daily prayer in the classroom. Opportunities for communal and personal prayer are offered throughout the day. Weekly school assemblies open and close with prayer and often include the principal’s reflections on Sunday’s Gospel reading.
